99.99% Pure Lead Plate Construction

ODYSSEY Extreme Series batteries use flat plates made from 99.99% pure lead rather than conventional lead alloy. Pure lead plates can be manufactured thinner, allowing more plates to fit inside the battery. The increased plate surface area helps provide greater power output compared with many conventional battery designs.

Absorbed Glass Mat Technology

ODYSSEY Extreme Series batteries use dry-cell Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) technology to contain the electrolyte. This construction allows the battery to be installed in multiple orientations, including on its side. The densely packed flat-plate design also reduces unused internal space and provides additional plate surface area for increased power.

Performance Series batteries provide many of the durability benefits of the Extreme Series while offering a different balance of cold-cranking amps and reserve capacity for applications that may not require the maximum output of an Extreme Series battery.
