Big Bear Dishpan Springs 4x4 Trail 9/14/07

What started out as a innocent weekend for wheel'n ended with a massive forest fire and a broken rig. The original plan was to camp north of Big Bear Lake friday night and get a '07 Toyota FJ Cruiser, Nissan Xterra, and Jeep Wrangler through dishpan springs or as far as the rigs would allow, on saturday morning. But due to the Fawnskin fire we camped near crab flats before it was mandatory to evacuate. we left first thing in the morning for Dishpan Springs but had an early turn around due to the Nissan Xterra having trouble getting power to the front wheels.
We ended up taking the Willow Creek and Pilot Rock trails to Lake Silverwood where we would then return home.
